The SMOC Fuel Assistance program is now accepting new applications. If you are a single person with yearly income below $42,412 or a two person household with income below $55,462, you may be eligible for assistance with your heating bills this winter.
Call the Senior Center and we will send you an application packet. When you have gathered all of the necessary documentation, call back and we will schedule an appointment to complete the application process.
Documentation that you will need for a new application includes the following:
-
Current copy of photo ID for head of household
-
Social Security cards for all members of the household or proof of citizenship (birth certificates, passports or naturalization papers, green cards)
-
Housing Documents–mortgage, real estate tax bill, homeowners insurance, condo fee, current lease, tenant profile from the Housing Authority, lease signed showing agreement if heat is included in the rent.
-
Current Income Documentation for everyone over 18
-
Copy of current heating bill and electric bill (both sides) Beginning November 1, we will be mailing out the complete application packet. You will be responsible for filling it out and mailing or dropping it off at SMOC in Framingham. If you require assistance with filling it out, please let me know directly and we will work something out. I can also review your work and we can make copies here for you. Please call and we can set up a time to do this.
